A backbone built to stay up.

Enterprise switching, routing and fiber, engineered with redundancy at every layer: two internet connections, paired firewalls, a redundant core and battery-backed power. When something fails, the network doesn’t.

  • High availability
  • Dual internet
  • 10G fiber backbone
  • PoE++
  • As-built documentation

High availability

Two of everything that matters.

A single failure should never be the reason the house goes offline. We design every layer so that when one part fails, its twin takes over automatically, usually before anyone notices.

The diagram below runs on a loop: the primary fiber is cut, the standby firewall and backup connection take over, and the network carries on.

Redundancy, layer by layer

Where a typical network has a single point of failure, ours has a plan.

  1. Internet

    Two providers, automatic failover

Two connections on different media, typically fiber plus cable or cellular, with automatic failover and load balancing between them.

  2. Firewalls

    A high-availability pair

Two firewalls configured as one. If the active unit fails or loses its connection, its twin takes over in seconds.

  3. Core

    A redundant core

Stacked or paired core switches with aggregated uplinks to every closet, so one failed switch or cable never isolates a room or a building.

  4. Buildings

    Fiber to every structure

10G fiber to the guest house, pool house, garage and gatehouse. On larger estates we split core equipment across buildings, so an outage in one doesn’t take down the other.

  5. Power

    Battery-backed, remotely controlled

Battery backup in every rack, dual power supplies where it matters, and remote power control, so equipment can be restarted without a visit.

  6. Protection

    Loop and storm protection

Rapid spanning tree, edge-port protection and storm control, so a cable plugged into the wrong jack can’t bring the network down.

Capabilities

Everything between the internet and the last room.

  • Design and deployment

Planning, specifications and room to grow, documented and approved before anything is ordered.

  • Power over Ethernet

PoE++ budgets planned for access points, cameras, intercoms and access control.

  • Segmentation and priority

Separate networks for family, guests, staff and systems, with priority for calls and video.

  • SD-WAN, VPN and remote access

Secure access to the property and its systems from anywhere, over redundant links.

  • Assessments

A clear report on the network you have today: what’s at risk and what’s worth keeping.

  • Upgrades and migrations

New equipment cut over in planned windows, with a way back if it’s needed.

  • Cabling design and certification

Structured cabling designed, labeled and certified to standard, port by port.

  • Systems for integrators

Enterprise networks pre-configured for audio-video and home-automation partners.

  • Optimization and management

Firmware, tuning and configuration backups, kept current for the life of the system.

How we build

Planned on paper. Configured by method. Checked before we leave.

  • Proven hardware. Enterprise equipment from established manufacturers, chosen for stability and years of support.
  • A configuration methodology. Built from vendor guidance, your requirements and our team’s three decades of practical experience.
  • Post-deployment quality assurance. A formal review that the network as built matches the design and your expectations.
  • Then we keep watching. Health and performance monitoring and remote management for as long as you like.

Equipment we specify

  • Cisco Systems
  • Extreme Networks
  • Juniper
  • Ruckus ICX
  • Sophos
  • Fluke Networks

Questions

What clients ask first.

What if the internet goes down?

With dual internet, the backup connection takes over automatically, usually without anyone noticing. Our monitoring tells us it happened, and we take it up with the provider.

Do you work with integrators?

Yes, often. We design and pre-configure the network for audio-video and home-automation integrators, they build on it, and each side knows exactly where its responsibility ends.

Can you reuse our equipment?

Often, yes. We start with an assessment and tell you plainly what’s worth keeping, what’s at risk and what should be replaced.

What do we receive at handover?

As-built documentation: network drawings, port maps, labeled patch panels and configuration backups, so the system is never a mystery, to us or to anyone else.
